The Annandale Boys & Girls Club 97G Strikers team is working hard to not only raise awareness of breast cancer during October, but they are also taking action to raise money for a local organization – Life with Cancer. Two parents on their team are breast cancer survivors, and Inova Health System’s Life with Cancer program was an integral part of one of the mother’s journey through cancer.
Life with Cancer offers cancer and treatment education, complementary therapies, support groups, classes, nutrition programs and outreach throughout Northern Virginia, free of charge, regardless of where patients seek care.
For all October games the girls are Going Pink in a big way, from custom sweatshirts, headbands, socks and laces to special pink game balls. This Saturday they will be selling baked goods at the Falls Church Farmers Market from 9-noon.
