Bill Hamid called to Men’s National Team; also winner of MLS Goalkeeper of the Year

Bill Hamid became just the third player under the age of 25 to win the Allstate MLS Goalkeeper of the Year award after leadingHSHamid_Bill_0 D.C. United to the best record in the Eastern Conference this season.

Hamid, 24, ranked among league leaders in shutouts (10), saves (110), goals-against average (1.13) and finished with the best save percentage (75 percent) this season, and posted career highs in wins (14) and shutouts (10).

Goalkeeper Bill Hamid was also selected to the U.S. Men’s National Team roster for the international friendly vs. Ecuador on October 10, 2014, then played goalie in the November 14, 2014 game against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin, Ireland.

ABGC Alumnus Eryk Williamson Named to U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team

Midfielder Eryk Williamson, also a former player for ABGC, was selected as a member of the U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team.  Head coach Javier Perez called in 20 players for the Dec. 11-20 camp in Marbella, Spain. The USA’s international trip also includes two matches against Germany’s U-18s on Dec. 17 and 19.

Eryk is one of four players who had taken part in their first U-18 MNT camp in late October that have returned for this trip to Spain.

The U-18 MNT is 4-6-1 in international competition in 2014.
